Bert has a passion for helping people recognize and embrace that they are amazing. This journey started back in 2009 when Bert was involved with cheerleading and gymnastics. At age 17 Bert developed the skills necessary to lead a team, correct imbalances and produce results. In 2010, Bert began his transition from cheerleading coach to CrossFit coach. Bert's job at CrossFit Paradigm Performance led him to work with some of the best in the business. Bert was able to intern for CrossFit HQ's seminar team and work side by side with olympic gymnast, David Durante and gymnastics flow master, Tony Ronchi. He is now the head coach and owner of Bert's Box and he is ready to help you make a change!
A native of Horseheads, Betsy always had a competitive drive from a young age. She has taken that drive and was an assistant coach for the University of Rochester Women’s Lacrosse team. As a graduate of Nazareth College, Betsy completed a degree in psychology. During that time, she was a first team All-American at the NCAA Division III level, Player of the Year, chosen for the North/South All Star Game and earned first team honors in NYSWCAA as well as in the Empire 8 conference. In the fall of 2017 she was inducted to the Nazareth College Hall of Fame for her excellence in lacrosse. She is currently in her 12th year of teaching in the City of Rochester and is head coach of our KidFit Program.
Scott is a Veteran in the sport of fitness. Transitioning from a CrossFit gym to a Strength and Conditioning gym, Scott has been in the game for years and boy are we lucky to have him. Scott takes his training very seriously and he has a track record to show. Losing 60+ pounds himself, he can relate to a lot of members when it comes to difficulties that you might encounter along the way. Scott is CF-L1 certified and continues to educate himself on a daily basis; "for once you stop learning you start dying." -Albert Einstein
Janet is originally from a small, farm town where most entertainment involved the local public school. She was a cheerleader, a swimmer, played tennis and in the summer did gymnastics. In college, she did intermural swimming. In 2013, after watching the CrossFit Games on TV, Janet felt that she finally found a type of sport to combine all of her interests, and would be different every day. Back when Bert’s Box was in the garage, Janet dropped in and right away knew she had found the perfect environment to work on her athletic interests.
Christian has over 7 years of workout experience and is an accomplished athlete. Christian is an Exercise Science major at the College of Brockport. He has an extensive experience in track and field as well as various forms of resistance training.

Coach MK is a born and raised Brockport Blue Devil. She was a goal keeper for the soccer team, threw shot put for winter track and was a pitcher for the softball team. She continued her softball career at Binghamton where she competed at both NCAA Division II (1999) and NCAA Division I (2000-2003) level. Upon graduation MK got right into coaching and she has never looked back. She has coached softball at every level of the sport (travel, high school and collegiate) She currently is the owner of Black and White Baseball and Softball. Black and Whites focus is on training the whole athlete. Additionally, she is the Assistant Softball coach at RIT. Coaching is not simply her job, it is her life’s passion.
